The Inaugural Personal Branding Club London Meetup

The Personal Branding Club London had its inaugural Meetup this week. In spite of the holiday season and an absolute English downpour we had a decent turn-out consisting of people from various backgrounds looking to achieve great things by branding themselves.

It was a rather informal affair where we did rounds of introductions and talked about the purpose of personal branding for each and every member. It’s really interesting to see how everyone has a slightly different goal and approach to their own branding.

We also did an exercise to look at everyone's personal brand statements, making sure they include the elements of value, USPs and target audience. I expect to hear some killer statements next time!

Guest speaker

My good buddy and famous blogger Murray Newlands gave a great talk about his own personal branding journey. He spoke about his background in marketing, how he was advised to set up a blog as a vehicle to promote himself (something Murray is not shy about!) and he shared useful practical tips on how to strengthen one’s brand online and offline.

Jason Yau: “Good start, good people, Murray Newlands was excellent. Mainly focused on online branding and social media.”

See you next time

Be sure the check out the Personal Branding Club on Meetup, the next one is on the 1st of September and it will feature another interesting personal branding speaker. If you are interested in learning more about branding yourself for career and business success, this is the perfect opportunity for you.

As for the venue reservation, it was nice to see the good folks at the Pitcher & Piano got my name (and my brand!) right especially as I booked it via email…
