Time for another social media conference in London town: Social Media PR 2011. This time around, the good folks at Influence People are hosting an event solely dedicated to the world of public relations (make that PR) and social media.
In this one-day conference they'll explore the key questions for PR and Communications execs in the new world of social media: Do you have the real-time communications mindset? How can your organisation deal with negative buzz? Can you harness online support to create brand advocates? How do you manage the fire-hose of social media data? And when does PR engagement become marketing? People are probably talking about your organisation online right now. The question is: is this as an opportunity, or a threat?
Topics covered on the day:
• The Convergence of Social PR and Marketing
• How to identify influencers & create brand advocates
• Reputation management tools & techniques
• Crisis management & prevention
• ROI and PR: New measures of success
• Real-time PR case studies
Who will talk about what?
Ben Padley and Pete Goold will give a keynote on how Sony Ericsson went from 300k to 3 million Facebook Fans in Just 9 months. Katie Delahaye Paine from KDPaine & Partners will talk about how to develop engagement metrics – sound very interesting to me. Other speakers include Tamara Walker from the London Blog Club, Giles Palmer of Brandwatch, Marshall Sponder the web metrics guru himself, Murray and Luke from Influence People. On top of that you'll be hob nobbing with all the other movers and shakers from the London and UK social media PR world of course.

Any other goodies on the day?
The conference will include presentations, panel discussions, Q&A sessions and "fireside chats" with some of the world’s leading social PR experts. There will also be an Exhibition Area showcasing some of the latest social PR tools and services. The ticket price includes lunch, refreshments and a handbook for the day, plus networking drinks at the end of the day.
The conference will be live-streamed online, so if you can’t make it along, just buy an online ticket and watch the proceedings from your office. See more details at the info page.
But what about the free tickets dude?
Right, the deal is that you have to leave a comment on this post and tweet me @jorgensundberg with the event hashtag #SocialPR. I will draw a couple of lucky winners by the deadline which is Friday the 25th. Hope to see you there, free ticket or not!
