Just Had New Pictures Taken, Help Me Pick the Winner!

I wrote a blog post called How to Choose a Picture for Your Personal Brand the other month. This piece got quite a lot of people discussing profile photos, especially on LinkedIn.

Someone told me (in the nicest way possible) that I look like a convict on my own photo, which was a fair point. It was a two-minute job taken for my passport a few years back, it has served me well but time has come to move on.

Finally got around to getting new photos

Getting new pictures taken is one of those things you know you should do but you keep putting it off for whatever reason.

In the line of business I am in, I should really be leading by example so very glad to have been introduced to a brilliant photographer in London by the name of Tim Spiers.

The man behind the magic

Whilst telling me about about his life as a professional photographer, a volunteer swimming coach, a kick boxer and an avid networker, Tim managed to take some great shots which I have just finished going through.

When you are presented with 50+ pictures, you have to be brutal and narrow down the options, I got it down to three.

And before you ask about the pink shirt, we did half with a blue shirt but my fair complexion works better with pink, matches the freckles better you see…

The three options

Option 1

Option 2

Option 3

Now I need your help

Can you please drop a comment and let me know which photo you prefer and why? Based on your valuable input, I shall take the drastic step of updating all my online profiles (which haven’t seen a new profile photo for years).

This is when I should say that one lucky contestant wins a toaster or something but all you win in this competition is my eternal gratitude. Thank you in advance for helping me out!

PS. Do get in touch with Tim if you are based near London and you need great photos taken. I know for a fact that Tim does weddings, portraits, cherubs as well as really arty stuff. Have a look at Tim’s site for more information.
